Terms of service

Draft · Last updated 2 November 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Sleipner when you use Sleipner 3D: the website at 3d.sleipner.ai, the library, the generator, the API, the MCP server for AI assistants and the Sleipner 3D app for Shopify. Please read them. Our Privacy policy explains what we do with your personal data, and the Sleipner Free Library Licence explains how you may use library models.

1. Who we are

Sleipner 3D is run by Sleipner, the business behind 3d.sleipner.ai, based in Sweden ("Sleipner", "we", "us"; contact: [email protected]). The legal entity's registered name and details will be added here.

2. Your account

  1. You sign in with your email address and a one-time code we email you. There is no password. Keep access to your email safe: whoever can read it can sign in as you.
  2. Give us an email address that is yours and that works. One person per account; don't share it.
  3. You are responsible for what is done in your account, including with your API keys and the apps you connect, unless it happened through our fault.
  4. You must be at least 13 years old to use Sleipner 3D. If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission to buy credits.
  5. If you use Sleipner 3D for a company, you confirm that you may bind it to these terms, and "you" also means the company.
  6. You can stop using Sleipner 3D at any time and close your account (section 12).

3. The library

  1. Browsing and searching the library is free and needs no account. Downloads need a free account.
  2. Library models, including pack and community models, are under the Sleipner Free Library Licence. In short: use them in anything, personal or commercial, including games you publish and game-jam entries, and give stores, platforms and jam organisers the licence they need for your project. Three rules: don't resell or re-share them as models, don't claim you made them, and don't use them to train AI. A library model you change with the generator is still a library model (point 6.3).
  3. We may add, change or remove library models at any time. A model you already downloaded stays under the licence that applied when you downloaded it.

4. Credits and payment

  1. Making or changing an object costs credits. The price in credits is shown before you start. Searching and downloading library models is free.
  2. Credits are prepaid: you buy a pack before you use it. The packs and prices are on the pricing page. There is no subscription and nothing is charged automatically.
  3. Credits never expire, bought or free. They end only if your account is closed (section 12).
  4. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe emails you a receipt, and your purchases are listed in the studio. Prices are in US dollars, euros or Swedish kronor. Prices in euros and kronor include VAT; prices in US dollars are before tax, and checkout adds any sales tax or VAT before you pay. You pay the currency and amount you chose.
  5. Prices are fixed when you start. If an object fails, or you cancel it, all its credits come back to your balance. A change shows two prices: a small one if only the surface changes (a colour, material or wear) and the tier's price if the shape must be rebuilt. We take one of them at the start and settle to the right one when the job runs; you never pay more than the tier's price shown, and if your balance can't cover a rebuild, the job stops and everything comes back.
  6. Your right to withdraw (ångerrätt). If you are a consumer, you may withdraw from a credit purchase within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason. At checkout you ask us to make the credits available at once and confirm that you lose the right to withdraw for the credits you spend, because what you make with them is work done at your request. So if you withdraw, we refund the share of the price that matches the pack's unused credits (the lower of the pack's credits and your balance when you withdraw), and take those credits off your balance. To withdraw, use "Withdraw from this purchase" on the purchase in your studio (Studio, Credits) or write to [email protected] within the 14 days; you may use the withdrawal form. We confirm a withdrawal by email. We refund within 14 days, to the way you paid. We give business buyers the same 14-day refund of unused credits. After 14 days, bought credits are not refunded, except where these terms or the law say so.
  7. When a payment is refunded or disputed, we take back the credits it bought. If those credits are already spent, your balance doesn't go below zero, but we may pause buying and making on the account until the dispute is settled.
  8. Free credits. New accounts get free credits, once per email inbox. Credit codes give free credits once per account; a code has a last day to redeem it and a limit on how many people can, which we tell you with the code. Once in your balance, free credits never expire, but they have no cash value and are never refunded.
  9. Credits are not money. They can't be exchanged for cash, transferred to another account or sold.
  10. We may change prices and packs for the future. A change never takes credits you already have, and a job keeps the price it started at.

5. Making objects

  1. You can make 3D objects from a description, from your own photos (for example product photos), or by changing a library model or an object you made before.
  2. The objects are made by AI models from several providers, chosen and checked by our pipeline. To make them, we send your prompts and photos to those providers (see the Privacy policy).
  3. Objects you make are private: only you can see them in your account. We only publish an object if you choose to share it with the community (point 6.7).
  4. If a finished object you paid for is broken (for example the file doesn't open) or plainly not what you asked for, tell us at [email protected] within a reasonable time. We will fix it or give its credits back. This is on top of your rights as a consumer.

6. What you make, and who owns it

  1. Your input. You keep all rights you have in your prompts, photos and other material you give us ("your input").
  2. Your objects are yours. You own the objects you make with the generator from your own prompts or photos ("your objects") fully, as far as the law and our AI providers' terms allow (point 4). We claim no rights in them: to the extent we have any, we transfer them to you. You may use, change, publish, sell, resell and license your objects for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial, and give others the licences they need, for example a publisher, a store or the organiser of a game jam or contest. The only rights we keep are the ones in point 5, to run the service, and, only if you choose to share an object, the ones in point 7. An object you make in the style of a library, pack or community model is one of your objects too: the model's renders only guide its look, and it is a new object, not a copy of that model.
  3. Changed library models. An object you make by changing a library model is a library model with your changes. You own your changes; the result stays under the Sleipner Free Library Licence, so you may use it in anything, but not resell or re-share it as a model, claim you made it, or train AI on it.
  4. The law on AI output is still unsettled, and our providers have terms too. In many countries copyright protects only work made by a person. Your objects may not be protected by copyright, and others may make very similar objects with the same or other tools. We can't promise that your objects are unique or that you can stop others from copying them. The provider terms we have checked give the output to us or to you and claim no rights in it, but one provider asks that published output is marked as made by AI. So when you publish your objects, say that they were made with AI wherever a store, a platform, a contest or the law asks you to. We recommend saying so whenever you publish them.
  5. What you let us do. This is the minimum we need to run the service. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process, change and show your input and your objects, only as needed to run Sleipner 3D for you: to make and change your objects, show them to you, keep them in your account, let you download them, fix problems and keep the service safe. Sharing an object with the community adds the licence in point 7. Deleting an object removes it from your account and from the community at once; this licence ends when your account is deleted, and backup copies roll off within 30 days.
  6. We don't train AI models on your input or objects. People at Sleipner may look at them to fix a problem, check the quality of our pipeline or keep the service safe. Our AI providers handle what we send them under their own terms, which the Privacy policy describes.
  7. Sharing with the community. Where sharing is offered, you can choose to share an object with the community when you make it, for a lower price shown before you start. Objects made from your own photos or reference pictures, changes of them, objects made in the style of one of them, and requests you made after our check advised against them can't be shared. By sharing an object you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to review it, to publish it, its renders and a title and description we write for it in the community section of the library, and to let anyone download and use it under the Sleipner Free Library Licence. You keep your rights in your object and may still use it as you like.
  8. What you promise when you share. You promise that your input doesn't copy or infringe anyone's rights (for example a brand, a logo, a character or a real person's likeness), doesn't contain other people's personal data, and doesn't break the acceptable use rules below.
  9. Review. Shared objects are reviewed before they are published: first by an AI model, and by a person at Sleipner when the AI is unsure or the object is reported. In the beginning, review can take 1–5 days. We may decline to publish a shared object or remove it at any time, and we tell you why in your account. We publish your prompt only if it contains no personal data. You can choose a display name to be credited with, or stay anonymous. The lower price stays the same whether or not your object is published.
  10. Stopping and takedown. You can stop sharing an object at any time on its page, or delete it, and it leaves the community at once; copies others downloaded before then stay licensed to them. Anyone can report a published model, and rights holders can ask us to take one down by writing to [email protected]. We may pause sharing on an account whose recent shares we couldn't accept.

7. Acceptable use

You may not use Sleipner 3D to make, upload, store or share anything that:

  1. breaks the law, or helps someone else break it;
  2. infringes anyone's rights, including copyright, trademarks, design rights and privacy, for example a protected character, a brand's logo or a product design you have no right to copy;
  3. shows a real, identifiable person without their permission, or sexualises anyone, or shows sexual content involving minors in any way;
  4. is meant to harass, threaten, deceive or defame anyone, or promotes violence or hatred;
  5. is a working weapon or weapon part meant to be made physically, for example a 3D-printable firearm.

Photos you upload. Only upload photos you have the right to use: photos you took, or that the rights holder allows you to use for this. Product photos must be of products you sell or have permission to represent. Don't upload photos that show people unless they agreed.

Using the service fairly. You may not:

  1. try to get into accounts, systems or data that are not yours, or test our security without our written permission;
  2. overload the service, get around rate limits, credit checks or other limits, or use it in a way that harms other users;
  3. scrape or bulk-download the library or the site by automated means, except through the API, the MCP server, library.json and llms.txt within their limits;
  4. resell access to Sleipner 3D, or share your account, API keys or credits with others;
  5. use Sleipner 3D itself (its site, API or MCP server) to build a competing 3D generation service, without our written permission. What you may do with library models is in the Sleipner Free Library Licence; your own objects are yours (point 6.2).

We may refuse or stop a job that breaks these rules (its credits come back), remove content, and suspend or close accounts that break them (section 12). Report a problem, or content that infringes your rights, to [email protected].

8. AI output may contain errors

Objects are made by AI and checked by automated tests. They can be wrong: the shape, size, scale, colours, materials, parts, rigs or animations may not match what you asked for or what a product really looks like. A model made from product photos is a representation, not an exact copy of the product.

Check every object before you use it, especially where accuracy matters: in a shop (a customer may rely on how a product looks or how big it is), in a physical product, or anywhere safety, law or money is involved. You are responsible for how you use your objects and for what you publish with them.

9. API keys, the MCP server and connected apps

  1. You can make personal API keys in the studio, and connect AI assistants and other apps to your account through the MCP server and OAuth. Both let software act as you: search the library, download files, and make or change objects with your credits.
  2. Keep your API keys secret, like a password. We show a key once and store only a fingerprint of it. If a key leaks, revoke it in the studio straight away. You pay for what is done with your keys and connected apps until you revoke them, unless a leak was our fault.
  3. API keys can't buy credits, manage keys or change your account.
  4. The API and the MCP server have rate limits, and there is a limit on how many objects you can have in the works at once, to keep the service fast for everyone. They may change. Above a limit you get an error and can try again later.
  5. We may revoke a key or disconnect an app that breaks these terms or puts the service at risk.
  6. An AI assistant may spend your credits when you ask it to make or change an object. It is told to show you the price and ask first, but you are responsible for what you ask it to do.

10. The Sleipner 3D app for Shopify

These points apply if you install the Sleipner 3D app in a Shopify store ("the app"). The app is in a private pilot.

  1. The app reads the products and photos you choose, sends the photos to Sleipner 3D to make a model, and, when you approve and publish it, adds the model to the product in your store.
  2. The app is paid with the credits of the Sleipner account whose API key you connect. Each model, and each redo, costs credits like any other object.
  3. You must have the rights to the photos and products you use with the app (section 7).
  4. Check a model before you publish it. You decide what appears in your store and you are responsible for it towards your customers. We don't promise that a model shows the product exactly.
  5. The app stores your shop's address, its Shopify access token and your Sleipner API key encrypted, plus a record of the models made for your products. It stores no data about your customers. When you uninstall the app, Shopify tells us and we delete this data as described in the Privacy policy. The models and photos in your Sleipner account stay there until you delete your account.
  6. Shopify's own terms apply to your use of Shopify. Shopify is not responsible for the app.

11. Availability and changes to the service

  1. Sleipner 3D is new and in beta. We work to keep it running and fast, but we can't promise that it is always available, without errors or that every job finishes in a set time; at busy times making objects may pause for the day. This doesn't limit your rights as a consumer.
  2. We may change, add or remove features, models, formats and providers. If we remove a paid feature you rely on, we tell you in advance where we can.
  3. Keep your own copies of objects you need. Download them; don't use your account as your only copy.
  4. If we close Sleipner 3D, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance, give you time to download your objects, and refund the credits you paid for and have not used.

12. Suspension and closing accounts

  1. You can close your account at any time by writing to [email protected] from your account's email address. Closing it ends its credits: use them first, or withdraw from a recent purchase (point 4.6). Free credits are not refunded.
  2. We may suspend or close your account, or remove content, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect users, third parties or the service. Where we can, we tell you why first and give you a chance to fix it. If we close your account, we refund the credits you paid for and have not used, unless we close it for fraud or for a serious breach of section 7.

13. Our liability

  1. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for intent, gross negligence or personal injury, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
  2. If you are a consumer, we are liable to you as Swedish consumer law says, but not for losses in a business you run.
  3. If you use Sleipner 3D for a business, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit, lost revenue, lost data, or claims from your customers or other third parties, and our total liability for all claims in any 12 months is limited to the larger of what you paid us in those 12 months and 1,000 Swedish kronor.
  4. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events we can't reasonably control, such as outages at our providers, power or network failures, or acts of authorities.

14. Your responsibility

If you use Sleipner 3D for a business, you will compensate Sleipner for reasonable costs and claims from third parties caused by your input, by your use of your objects, or by you breaking these terms. This does not apply to consumers.

15. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We tell you about important changes by email or in the studio at least 30 days before they apply. If you don't agree, you can stop using Sleipner 3D and close your account before the change applies, and we refund the credits you paid for and have not used. If you keep using Sleipner 3D after the change applies, the new terms apply. Small changes that don't affect your rights, such as fixing a typo, apply when we publish them. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.

16. Law and disputes

  1. Swedish law applies to these terms, without its rules on choice of law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.
  2. If something is wrong, contact us first at [email protected]; most problems are solved quickly that way.
  3. If you are a consumer, you may take a dispute to the courts of Sweden or of the country where you live, and we can only take one against you in the country where you live. Other disputes are decided by Swedish courts, with Stockholm District Court (Stockholms tingsrätt) as the first court.
  4. If we can't agree, consumers can take the dispute to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, arn.se), which is free. We take part in its process. Consumers in another EU country can also get free help from their European Consumer Centre.

17. Other things

  1. If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
  2. If we don't enforce a right at once, we haven't given it up.
  3. You may not transfer your account or these terms to someone else without our permission. We may transfer them to a business that takes over Sleipner 3D, on the same terms for you, and we will tell you if we do.
  4. These terms, the Privacy policy and the Sleipner Free Library Licence make up our agreement about Sleipner 3D, unless we sign something else with you.

18. Withdrawal form

If you want to withdraw from a credit purchase (point 4.6), you can copy this into an email to [email protected]. You don't have to use it; any clear message works.
