Medieval Village

A realistic medieval set built around one rigged draft horse and its farm wagon. Worn oak, iron, linen and steel, all at true scale, so the models sit together in one scene. The horses share one rig and eight clips, and the carts’ wheels roll.

13 of 38 models · coats grouped

A realistic medieval village: a rigged draft horse with eight clips, from idle and grazing to a full gallop, a farm wagon whose wheels turn, and the carts, armour and village props around them.

Made to fit together

Worn oak, wrought iron, linen and steel, in one realistic style and at true scale. A barrel is barrel-sized next to the wagon, and the wagon is the right size for the horse, so the models look like they belong to the same village when you put them in one scene. The horses in different coats share one rig, so every clip works on every horse.

Every format, every level

Each model comes as GLB, glTF, FBX, USDZ, Blend and OBJ, at standard detail (about 50,000 triangles) and at a low level with a quarter of the triangles for distance and mobile. Rigged models keep their rig and clips in GLB, glTF, FBX and Blend. USDZ holds one clip, and OBJ is static.

Questions

Are the Medieval Village models free?

Yes. Anyone can view them in the browser. Downloading is free with a Sleipner account: an email address and a 6-digit code.

Can I use them in a commercial game?

Yes, under the Sleipner Free Library Licence: use them in anything, personal or commercial, including games you sell, client work and game-jam entries, changed or not. No fee and no credit needed. The three rules: don't resell or re-share the models as models (on their own, in an asset pack or on a model site), don't claim you made them, and don't train AI on them.

Which game engines do they work in?

Any engine or tool that reads GLB, glTF or FBX: Godot 4 (GLB), Unity (FBX, or GLB with the glTFast package), Unreal Engine 5 (FBX or glTF) and Blender (the Blend file). The models are in metres, with the base on the ground.

Is the horse rigged and animated?

Yes. The draft horse has a skeleton and eight clips: walk, trot, canter, gallop, idle, eating, turn left and turn right. The skeleton and clips are based on the CC0 "Horse" by Quaternius.

Do the wagon wheels turn?

Yes. The farm wagon has a roll clip that turns its wheels as it moves. Each model's page lists its clips, and the viewer plays them.

How detailed are the models?

About 50,000 triangles at standard detail for most models, and a quarter of that at low detail. Some also come with the raw high-detail mesh (1 to 2 million triangles, no rig) for close-up renders. The viewer on each model page shows the wireframe, so you can check before you download.

Can I get a medieval model that is not in the pack?

Yes. Describe it on the Make page and the Sleipner studio makes it with the same clean-up, materials and formats. A change that only touches the surface, such as another coat colour or a painted shield, keeps the exact shape and costs less than a new model.
